Nabaltec presents nine-month figures 2008:
- Consolidated revenue improves by 18.4% to EUR 76.4 million
- EBIT increases by 37.1% to EUR 4.8 million
- Consolidated revenue 2008 of approx. EUR 95 million expected


Schwandorf, 25 November 2008 – The Nabaltec Group, a leading supplier of
mineral-based flame retardants and raw materials for technical ceramics,
was able in the first nine months of 2008 to improve revenue by 18.4% from
EUR 64.5 million to EUR 76.4 million. The 'Functional Fillers' division
contributed with EUR 49.9 million (first nine months of 2007: EUR 42.5
million) and the 'Technical Ceramics' division with EUR 26.5 million (first
nine months of 2007: EUR 22.0 million). Earnings also developed positively
in the reporting period. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and
amortization (EBITDA) rose in the first nine months of 2008 by 25.0% to EUR
8.5 million (first nine months of 2007: EUR 6.8 million), while the
operating result (EBIT) increased by 37.1% to EUR 4.8 million (first nine
months of 2007: EUR 3.5 million). Accordingly, the EBIT margin from total
performance rose from 5.5% to 6.1%. Earnings after minority interests in
the first nine months of the year came to EUR 1.9 million (first nine
months of 2007: EUR 2.3 million).

'The first nine months of 2008 developed quite positively for us, since we
could increase both revenue and EBIT', explains Gerhard Witzany, Member of
the Management Board of Nabaltec AG. 'In view of the excellent average
revenue development in the first three quarters of the year, we will be
able to increase revenue for the full year by 8% to approx. EUR 95 million
despite the strongly declining demand. EBIT showed clear improvement over
2007, both on a quarterly basis and for the first nine months of the year.
Due to the weak market, however, we do not expect further EBIT growth in
the fourth quarter.'
