Nabaltec AG / Miscellaneous Release of a Corporate News, transmitted by DGAP - a company of EquityStory AG. The issuer / publisher is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Schwandorf/Corpus Christi (Texas, USA), 18 September 2008 – Nabaltec AG's Nashtec production plant in the US has successfully completed its quality management audit and has received certification under the ISO 9001:2000 standard from the Technical Control Association (TÜV) of Southern Germany. This means, the production site in Corpus Christi (Texas, USA), like the flagship plant in Schwandorf, meets the highest possible quality standards set by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO). 'Thanks to Nashtec we have been the only company in the world since November 2006 which can offer fine precipitated aluminum hydroxides in both the US and Europe at an equally high quality at both production sites. We are very pleased that this has now been officially documented by the TÜV certification under ISO 9001:2000. At the same time, we take this distinction as a challenge to continue meeting the high quality standards demanded by our clients, as well as by ourselves,' says Gerhard Witzany, Member of the Management Board of Nabaltec AG. The Corpus Christi plant is currently operating at about 75% capacity, as planned. Nashtec was completely spared by Hurrican Ike. Production was only stopped from Friday to Sunday as a safety precaution. The plant went back online on Monday, 15 September 2008. About Nabaltec AG Nabaltec AG, with registered office in Schwandorf, a chemicals business which has received multiple awards for innovativeness, manufactures, develops and distributes highly specialized products based on aluminum hydroxide ('ATH') and aluminum oxide, as well as other raw materials, on an industrial scale through its 'Functional Fillers' and 'Technical Ceramics' divisions. The company's product range includes flame retardant fillers for the plastics industry, used e.g. in cables in tunnels, airports, high-rise buildings and electronic devices, as well as base materials for use in technical ceramics, the refractory industry and catalysis. Unlike halogenated flame retardant fillers, the products manufactured by the company's 'Functional Fillers' division contain no hazardous substances and do not require separate disposal. Rather, the company's flame retardant fillers actually decrease the development of fumes hazardous to human health and the environment in the event of fire. Nabaltec maintains production sites in Germany and the US. It aims to further consolidate its market position by increasing capacity, continuing to optimize its processes and product quality and strategic additions to its product range and to secure the market leadership in each segment where its specialty products are represented, in addition to qualitative leadership.
